Als een ware veejay spurt Midden- Oosten expert Neil van der Linden door het verbluffende aanbod van audiovisueel- en video materiaal uit de landen aan de oost- en zuidkant van de Middellandse Zee. Genres en definities doen er niet zo toe: beeldende kunst, multimedia, hiphop-cultuur, straatcultuur. Dit is de ‘officiële indeling, maar de verwantschappen tussen de makers blijken telkens groter dan de verschillen.

Genres and definitions are not the key issue here. While the ‘official’ classification may be into fine arts, multimedia, hip-hop and street culture, the relationships between the creative artists turns out time and again to be greater than the differences.
